Safety & Community Standards

Conduct, safeguarding, and enforcement standards for all TutuTap users.

1.1 These Safety & Community Standards ("Standards") set minimum expectations for conduct on the TutuTap marketplace platform operated by X Operators Group. ("TutuTap", "we", "us", or "our").

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

1.1 These Safety & Community Standards ("Standards") set minimum expectations for conduct on the TutuTap marketplace platform operated by X Operators Group. ("TutuTap", "we", "us", or "our").

1.2 These Standards apply to all users: parents, legal guardians, tutors, tutor applicants, students who interact through accounts controlled by adults, and visitors using interactive features.

1.3 These Standards supplement the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Parent Terms, and Tutor Agreement. Breach may result in enforcement action including suspension or permanent ban without refund of TutuTap subscription fees.

1.4 TutuTap is a marketplace only — not a school, tuition agency, or employer. These Standards do not create a duty of care beyond what applicable law requires, and do not guarantee safety outcomes.

2. OVERARCHING PRINCIPLES

2.1 All users must:

2.2 Users share responsibility for safe and appropriate tutoring arrangements. TutuTap provides tools and policies but does not supervise lessons or guarantee detection of all misconduct.

  • (a) act lawfully, honestly, and with respect toward others;
  • (b) prioritise the welfare of children and vulnerable individuals involved in
  • (c) use the Platform for legitimate tutoring-related purposes;
  • (d) comply with applicable Singapore laws and regulations; and
  • (e) report concerns promptly through appropriate channels.

3. RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATION AND CONDUCT

3.1 Users must communicate professionally in enquiries, messages, reviews, and support interactions.

3.2 Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:

nationality, disability, age, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics;

3.3 Disagreements about lesson quality or payment should be addressed civilly. Escalate serious disputes through reporting channels rather than public harassment.

  • (a) harassment, bullying, intimidation, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact;
  • (b) discrimination, hate speech, or slurs based on race, religion, gender,
  • (c) threats of violence, blackmail, or coercion;
  • (d) sexual harassment or unwelcome sexual comments or advances;
  • (e) retaliation against users who report concerns in good faith;
  • (f) publishing private personal data of others without authority ("doxxing");
  • (g) defamation, fraudulent reviews, or deliberate false accusations; and
  • (h) abusive language directed at TutuTap staff or support personnel.

4. SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND MINORS

4.1 Tutoring on TutuTap frequently involves children. Parents/guardians and tutors share safeguarding responsibility.

4.2 TUTORS MUST:

parent knowledge where the parent has required Platform communication;

consent and supervision;

context and cultural norms, and never in a sexualised or exploitative manner;

minors;

cooperate with authorities; and

4.3 PARENTS AND GUARDIANS MUST:

supervision for the child's age;

safeguards;

4.4 TutuTap does NOT guarantee that any user is safe or that lessons will be free from harm. Verification badges and reviews are not safety guarantees.

  • (a) maintain professional boundaries with minors at all times;
  • (b) avoid unnecessary collection of personal data from minors;
  • (c) not request intimate, sensitive, or inappropriate information from minors;
  • (d) not communicate with minors through unmonitored private channels outside
  • (e) not meet minors in private or unsafe locations without appropriate parent
  • (f) not engage in physical contact beyond what is appropriate for educational
  • (g) not share sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful material with
  • (h) report suspected abuse, grooming, or endangerment to hello@tututap.com and
  • (i) comply with all applicable child protection laws.
  • (a) supervise online lessons as appropriate for the child's age and maturity;
  • (b) ensure in-person lessons occur in safe, appropriate settings with adequate
  • (c) verify tutor identity and suitability through their own due diligence;
  • (d) not leave young children unsupervised with tutors without reasonable
  • (e) provide accurate information about the child only as needed; and
  • (f) report safeguarding concerns immediately.

5. PROHIBITED CONTENT

5.1 Users must not upload, post, transmit, or share content that:

(see Section 7);

non-tutoring commercial activity; or

authority.

5.2 We may remove content without notice.

  • (a) is unlawful under Singapore law or applicable jurisdiction;
  • (b) is sexually explicit, pornographic, or exploitative of minors;
  • (c) depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal drugs;
  • (d) infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • (e) contains malware, phishing links, or scams;
  • (f) impersonates another person or misstates qualifications;
  • (g) guarantees specific grades, PSLE results, exam scores, or school admission
  • (h) solicits users for pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, dating, or
  • (i) exposes identifying information about students in public areas without

6. PROHIBITED BEHAVIOUR AND PLATFORM INTEGRITY

6.1 Users must not:

  • (a) create fake accounts, bots, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour;
  • (b) manipulate reviews, ratings, rankings, or referral programmes;
  • (c) circumvent subscription fees, messaging limits, or verification by directing
  • (d) scrape, harvest, or bulk-download user data without written consent;
  • (e) attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data;
  • (f) use the Platform while subject to a ban or suspension;
  • (g) tutor or arrange tuition in violation of immigration, employment, or
  • (h) facilitate fraud, money laundering, or illegal tuition arrangements.

7. ACADEMIC REPRESENTATIONS — NO FALSE GUARANTEES

7.1 Users must not guarantee specific academic outcomes including grades, PSLE results, examination scores, or school admission.

7.2 Tutors may describe experience and teaching approach honestly but must not mislead parents about likely results.

7.3 Parents must not pressure tutors to make unlawful or unethical guarantees.

7.4 TutuTap does not verify every statement in profiles or messages and disclaims liability for reliance on user representations.

8. LESSON REPORTS AND PROFESSIONAL OBLIGATIONS

8.1 Where tutors are required to submit lesson reports, reports must be accurate, timely, and professional.

8.2 Reports must not contain unnecessary sensitive personal data about minors.

8.3 Repeated failure to submit reports, chronic no-shows, or pattern of last-minute cancellations may reduce visibility or trigger enforcement under tutor programme rules.

8.4 Lesson reports do not constitute TutuTap supervision or endorsement of lesson quality.

9. ONLINE AND IN-PERSON LESSON SAFETY PRACTICES

9.3 TutuTap does not inspect venues or monitor live lessons.

  • (a) use reputable video platforms with appropriate privacy settings;
  • (b) parents should be present or nearby for younger children as appropriate;
  • (c) do not record lessons without consent of all parties where required by law;
  • (d) report inappropriate on-camera behaviour immediately.
  • (a) meet in well-lit, public or parent-approved locations for initial meetings
  • (b) avoid isolated settings with minors without parent knowledge and consent;
  • (c) comply with house rules and building security requirements;
  • (d) parents should ensure transport arrangements are safe.

10. PRIVACY AND CONTACT INFORMATION

10.1 Do not publish phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, or home addresses in public profile fields or reviews to bypass Platform messaging and safety systems, unless a feature expressly permits it.

10.2 Exchange of off-Platform contact details is at users' own risk. See Privacy Policy.

10.3 Protect student and family privacy in reviews and public posts.

11. REPORTING CONCERNS AND EMERGENCIES

11.1 NON-EMERGENCY REPORTS: Use in-app reporting where available or email hello@tututap.com with relevant details (usernames, dates, descriptions). We may request additional information.

11.2 EMERGENCIES: Contact local emergency services immediately if anyone is in immediate danger.

11.3 After ensuring immediate safety, notify TutuTap so we may take Platform action consistent with our policies and law.

11.4 Reports made in good faith will not result in retaliation penalties against reporters. Bad-faith false reports may themselves violate these Standards.

12. ENFORCEMENT AND REMEDIES

12.1 We may take one or more enforcement actions at our sole discretion, including:

12.2 Severity, user history, risk to children, and legal obligations influence enforcement decisions. Identical conduct may result in different outcomes based on context.

12.3 Enforcement does not entitle users to refunds of TutuTap subscription fees under Subscription Terms.

12.4 We are not obligated to provide detailed reasoning for every enforcement decision where prohibited by law, safety, or privacy concerns.

  • (a) warning or educational notice;
  • (b) removal or editing of content;
  • (c) temporary feature restrictions;
  • (d) suspension of account or visibility;
  • (e) permanent ban from the Platform;
  • (f) forfeiture of referral or incentive rewards;
  • (g) reporting to law enforcement or regulatory bodies; and
  • (h) cooperation with legal process.

13. NO DUTY TO MONITOR — DISCLAIMERS

13.1 TutuTap does not undertake to monitor all messages, lessons, profiles, or off-Platform conduct.

13.2 We do not guarantee detection, prevention, or removal of all harmful content or behaviour.

13.3 Users remain solely responsible for their safety decisions, tutor/parent selection, lesson arrangements, and supervision of minors.

13.4 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TUTUTAP DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR USER MISCONDUCT, LESSON-RELATED INJURY, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, OR FAILURE TO PREVENT HARM, SUBJECT TO THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IN THE TERMS OF USE (GREATER OF S$100 OR 12 MONTHS' FEES PAID TO TUTUTAP).

13.5 Nothing in these Standards excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. COOPERATION WITH AUTHORITIES

14.1 We may preserve and disclose information to law enforcement, regulators, or courts when required by law or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect safety, rights, or Platform integrity.

14.2 Users must cooperate with lawful investigations related to Platform misuse.

15. INDEMNITY

15.1 Users agree to indemnify TutuTap as described in the Terms of Use for claims arising from their breach of these Standards, their conduct toward other users, and safeguarding failures attributable to them.

16. CHANGES TO THESE STANDARDS

16.1 We may update these Standards to reflect legal, safety, or operational changes. Updated versions will be posted with a new "Last updated" date.

16.2 Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

17. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

17.1 These Standards are governed by the laws of Singapore and incorporated into the Terms of Use.

17.2 Disputes relating to enforcement or interpretation are subject to the Terms of Use dispute resolution provisions, including thirty (30) days good-faith resolution via hello@tututap.com before court proceedings (except urgent relief), and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
