PSLE prep: a realistic timeline for P5 parents
When to start mock papers, how often to revise, and what tutors notice first.
Most families start structured PSLE prep in P5 Term 2 — not because P4 is too early, but because stamina and exam technique need time to build.
A practical rhythm: one mock paper every 2–3 weeks in P5, increasing to weekly in P6 Term 1. Pair each mock with a short tutor debrief so mistakes become a study plan, not just a score.
Watch for topic gaps early (fractions, ratio, algebra foundations). Tutors often flag these before school tests do — use lesson reports to prioritise weak areas over generic drilling.
